Flower of light
luminaire: wood, led lightbulb, metal
2020
Daniel Monteverde (1951) is an Italian designer, he is also the artistic director of the Kobe Festival in Japan. The luminaire object and artwork Flower of light , which reminds us of the Campanula Isophylla, is made with the essential element of life: light. This is necessary for plant survival, but also necessary for the human spirit as a metaphor of hope. Luminarie art comes from south Italian religious festivals where towns were decorated with light installations bringing joy to the communities and alleviating suffering.
Where is the most symbolic work like the “Flower of light” to a huge road of luminarie shining the city, his works are able to touch people's hearts by drawing from cosmological patterns.
